Yarns

Beautiful yarns are our passion and we believe that we have selected the most amazing array of yarns for you – many of which have never been seen in Tucson before – in colorways that you will love. There are just too many yarns to tell you about on this site, and new yarns are arriving every week, but here are some of the tempting yarns that await you at Tucson Yarn.

We've brought in plenty of your “basic” yarns, such as Plymouth Encore, Brown Sheep Bulky and Cascade 220, and many more spectacular yarns to use alone or with the basics.

  • Prism . Cool Stuff, Wild Stuff, Pebbles and Bon Bon -- Combine this very special luxurious yarn with others to make an incredibly beautiful sweater, shawl or cape.
  • Dive from Cascade -- You will be amazed at the divine fibers and colorways and you will love the price.
  • Manos del Uruguay -- We have these colors in both cotton and wool. The fibers are rich in striations. Manos is one of our favorites.
  • Sock yarn? Of course. Shepherd's Sock from Lorna's Laces , Sockotta from Plymouth , Hundertwasser from Opal , Jitterbug from Colinette , Wildefoote from Brown Sheep and others.
  • NORO is one of our most sought-after yarns and it's easy to see why. Make a fabulous mitered square shawl (take our class) or a colorful, self-striping felted bag out of Kureyon. Try Silk Garden for a luxurious scarf or jacket. Kochoran or Silver Thaw are the perfect choices to make an English Garden shawl (and we will show you how to do it).
  • Love Berroco ? So do we. And we've brought in some of their most popular yarns that we know you'll love -- including Boho, Cotton Twist, Suede, Softtwist and Love-It.
  • Plymouth -- It's not just about Encore. Knit up a fabulous mitered square shawl with Boku. An Eros tank top is perfect for the Arizona heat. You will love King George – a delicious mix of Cashmere, Alpaca and Merino – who wouldn't want a garment made with that luxurious combination of fibers? Punch up any project with colorful Parrot. Use Fantasy Naturale, a superb worsted weight cotton yarn, to knit up your fantasy project.
  • Colinette -- We are the only store in Tucson that carries this luxury yarn. Try their Banyan or Lasso – wonderful yarns for our climate. Wait until you see their specialty yarns – Giotto, Iona, Zanziba, Tagliatelli, Tao, Cadenza, Shimmer 5 – just the intriguing names give you a hint about the uniqueness of these yarns and the colorways are stunning.
  • Filatura di Crosa is known for their luxurious yarns. Try Batuffolo – a yarn that combines a loopy bouclé with a fun fur. We also carry their metallic yarns New Smoking and Night, both of which will add a little bling to your projects. Filatura's baby yarns will make you want to find a baby to knit for (if you don't already have one). Check out Bon Bon, Pom Pom and Party and make something soft and wonderful for the baby in your life.
  • Stacy Charles offers wonderful fun yarns. Work Sabrina into a project -- a multicolored thick-and-thin wool-blend with lots of textural interest.
  • Lorna's Laces -- Whether it's their delicious sock yarn or their lace weight merino, these yarns are hand-dyed to order and you can see at first glance why they are so special.
  • Louisa Harding – Come see this sumptuous line of unusual yarns with exquisite patterns to select from.
  • Sublime –- The name says it all for this blend of cashmere, merino and silk.
  • Sirdar –- Their Tiny Tots yarn offers machine wash and dry convenience and there are many simply adorable patterns to choose from.
  • Debbie Bliss -- Rialto (dk and aran weight) is washable merino wool or choose Baby Cashmerino or Baby Bamboo for a baby project or your own garment. We also feature her sumptuous Alpaca Silk – you won't be able to resist it!
  • Cotton: Of course, an Arizona knitting store wouldn't feel right without a wide variety of cotton yarns and Tucson Yarn will not disappoint you. In addition to the Manos and Cotton Twist we already told you about, we have a wide array of colors in the ever-popular Super 10 Butterfly and a wonderful yarn from Cascade called “Luna.”

And for those of you who like to make a statement with your knitting, add some bling (and have some fun). We've got plenty of novelty yarns, ribbons and glitz.
